Strictly No Elephants

As part of Kent Primary School's monthly social-emotional learning initiative, Principal Vincent Fino read "Strictly No Elephants," by Lisa Mantchev, to students on Wednesday.

The story follows a young boy and his tiny pet elephant who discover that they are not welcome at a local club. This month, our SEL focus is compassion—helping every student understand that they are valued, included, and that they belong in the Carmel Central School District. 

Following the read-aloud, students shared their thoughts and ideas about kindness, inclusion, and what it means to make sure everyone feels like they belong. What a wonderful way to begin the month of learning and growing together!
